Pertama-tama, anda harus tahu Avast yang sedang anda gunakan itu versi berapa? Jika anda belum tahu versi berapa, ikuti petunjuk di bawah ini:

• Jalankan anti virus Avast.
• Pada bagian Summary, klik Current Status. Di situ anda akan melihat versi dari Avast yang sedang anda pakai.
  

Jika sudah tahu berapa versi Avast yang sedang anda pakai, ikuti petunjuk di bawah ini:

• Pergi ke halaman offline download Avast di http://www.avast.com/download-update
• Klik tombol download yang ada di bagian kanan, sesuaikan dengan versi yang sedang anda pakai.
  
• Tunggu sampai proses download selesai.
  
• Jika sudah selesai, jalankan file yang sudah anda download dan ikuti prosesnya sampai selesai. Jika file update meminta restart, restart komputer/notebook anda.

Selesai, sekarang anda memiliki anti virus Avast yang terupdate tanpa harus mengkoneksikan komputer/notebook ke internet.

Q) Apakah ada perbedaan antara download manual seperti trik ini dengan koneksi langsung Avast ke internet?
A) Kalau untuk program dan database Anti Virus sama saja, cuman kapasitas yang harus di-download lebih besar. Beda yang secara langsung menggunakan program, karena program hanya akan download file yang dibutuhkan saja.
